Veralto Engineering Manager in Bangalore, India
Engineering manager is an integral position within the Digital collective software team. The engineering manager will be part of a fast-paced team, working in a collaborative environment that will drive growth and innovation within the Software and Cloud Computing competency. They will guide, mentor, and upskill a highly engaged software development team of 6 to 8 people. They will architect, design software code, technically lead the team and collaborate with other software architects and testers using the SCRUM process, in order to deliver iterative releases of front-end user experiences, with high quality expectations, and challenging timing of milestone delivery.

Team at IDC is building , maintaining and managing next generation “Water Intelligence System”. IDC is a research and development center with the vision of accelerating product roadmaps across various business segments.
The IDC workforce comprises various product engineering teams, working on development of software and hardware components of cutting-edge products and has evolved as center of excellence for Cloud and data analytics, with significant contributions to the key informatics solutions. The teams consist of highly hardworking software & hardware engineers and development managers. The teams are supported by local Product managers, Quality & Regulatory and Intellectual property specialists.
The inhouse teams works in close coordination with other global R&D centers at US, Canada, Europe, Japan, China, and Singapore.
Position Description:
Engineering manager is an integral position within the Digital collective software team. They will guide, mentor, and upskill a highly engaged software development team of 6 to 8 people. They will architect, design software code, technically lead the team and collaborate with other software architects and testers using the SCRUM process, in order to deliver iterative releases of front-end user experiences, with high quality expectations, and challenging timing of milestone delivery.
Responsibilities:
Lead a development team responsible for development of cloud applications utilizing Microsoft Azure PaaS offerings
Be responsible for an Agile software development team that uses scrum processes
Work closely with business and product teams to understand the requirements, drive design, architecture and influence the choice of technology to deliver solutions working closely with architects and leadership team
Build robust, scalable, highly available and reliable systems using Micro Services Architecture.
Improve Engineering and Operational Excellence by identifying and building the right solutions for observability and manageability.
Drive software quality by using early defect discovery and removal
Design and Architect solutions that are highly efficient, scalable, fault tolerant and cost optimized
Provide coaching to a development team that handles large scale IoT platform
Overall accountability of the team in terms of team engagement & Serve as a thought leader and mentor on technical, architectural, design and related issues.
Understand how many microservice based application interact with each other and create solution that fit overall strategy of Hach
Be an aficionado of agile methodologies
Foster a culture of psychological safety and open-mindedness within the team
Work with geographically located team while maintaining the highest quality and collaboration
Expert knowledge in developing detailed technical analysis and design specifications based on epics
Experience developing Microservice based Applications in an object-oriented programming language, preferably C#
Set and follow coding standards
Create standard software processes and provide documentation for technical approach
Perform in-depth reviews of code and debug complex engineering problems
Create design patterns to connect all the dots when developing a complex software products: Frontend, Backend, UX/UI & Middlewares
Take the accountability of the overall health of the products you build, and predictability of the deliverables of your team
Work closely with your team providing continuous feedback to raise the bar
Key Requirement & Qualifications:
PhD, Master’s or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
7+ years of experience developing cloud applications using, AWS, Azure, or other equivalent technologies
8+ years of experience developing server backends such as Web APIs using an object-oriented programming language or other equivalent technologies
5+ years of experience managing a highly motivate, cross functional and self organizing team
Expertise in front-end technologies, including JavaScript, CSS3 and HTML5 and third-party libraries such as Angular
Be able to deal with ambiguity and independently drive, design, and implement large scale software solution
Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results on technical projects.
Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in setting up software standards, policies and software development processes
Demonstrated ability to produce technical design documentation for assigned features and user stories
Good understanding of CI/CD, DevOps mindset, UI/UX, Deployments and continuous testing
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operation.
