Responsibilities
The candidate will support NPD, Lifecycle and i2V (innovate to Value) Engg. projects for Industrial Air Compressors, as required by Product / site teams in EMEIA.
Execute engineering work in alignment with ongoing projects, ensuring technical, time, and Quality requirements.
The candidate will apply Mechanical Design of static components & sub-assemblies used in the Packaging of Industrial Air Compressors using calculations, standards etc. and create 3D CAD assemblies and drawings for manufacture.
This includes creating Large, 3D Sheet metal, Piping Assemblies for Compressor Packages & Subsystems as well as Casting, Machining component & assembly level drawings.
Prepare engineering BoMs for ECR & ECN processes in Windchill PLM
Engage with key Global stakeholders and meet the business partner’s expectations. Flexible Travel as on required to global location as on need basis.
Mechanical design calculations to verify existing designs or select new ones
Develop presentation/ documentation material in support of NPD or i2V Design reviews, RCAs etc.
Communicate effectively while working remotely with global engineering teams.
Mandatory Skills
Min. 4 years: Design experience with Compressor / Blower / Vacuum Pump / very similar packaged, rotating equipment.
Expertise in Sheet metal, welded & threaded component design – 3+ years of hands-on experience
Experience with Compressor Subsystem sizing & selection e.g. Heat exchangers, Dryers, Valves etc.
Expertise in Piping design for Pneumatic or Hydraulic systems - 3+ years of hands-on experience
Expertise in Large Assembly & Top–down, bottom-up modelling using both CREO 6 (or higher) as well as Inventor 2019 (or higher) CAD platforms, and PLM.
Managing project priorities and timelines and stake holder expectations.
Desired skills:
Working knowledge of GD & T, ASME Y14.5 requirements in Drawings
Familiarity with CREO and Inventor, as also with PLM processes in Windchill or Vault or both. Knowledge of ERP processes with SAP or Oracle will be an advantage.
Knowledge of Pneumatic and Hydraulic Piping, pressure vessels & fittings standards is desirable.
Fundamental understanding of mechanics of materials, structures and its application to product design and function
Experienced in Mechanical design of parts or subsystems as per International Standards, Data handbooks etc.
Strong individual contributor with ability to collaborate with Cross-functional teams as required.
Basic Qualifications
Experience:-
B.E / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical, Automobile Engineering (Full time course)
M.Tech in Machine Design / Design Engg. (preferable, not mandatory)
6 10 years of overall experience with NPD, Lifecycle Engg. or VAVE of Packaged Compressors and /or similar Heavy mechanical equipment.
Excellent communication skills in verbal and written English is necessary.
Proactive, self-motivated individual with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time.
Conversant with Microsoft Office tools – Word; Excel; PPT.
Flexible to travel within India / overseas for short durations, based on business need.
