Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, is currently seeking a full time (40 hours per week;52 weeks per year; benefits eligible) Program Coordinator to join their Charlotte White Department. As the Program Coordinator, you are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of one residential program and supervising the direct care employees.

Location: Bangor, Maine

Program Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Supervise direct care professionals including hiring, training, evaluating and managing performance, providing supervision and safety according to agency policies and procedures.

  • Work closely with the program manager and client’s team, to ensure clients receive the highest standards of care.

  • Perform direct care responsibilities and must be available for on-call duties.

  • Ensure that all client charts are up to date using the agency electronic medical record system.

  • Schedule and notify staff for training and maintain compliance with QA department for all personnel related issues.

  • Ensure required reports including but not limited to monthly fire drills, safety checklists, weekly progress notes are completed in a timely manner.

Program Coordinator Requirements:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Prior experience supervising and leading a team preferred. Must have completed or have the ability to complete the following trainings/certifications: MHRT-1 or provisional, CPR/First Aid, Medication Certification (CRMA), MANDT, MHSS and all other required agency trainings.

  • Must have valid Maine driver’s license and insured, reliable transportation.

  • Computer proficiency and familiarity with MS Word, Excel, electronic medical records system, e-mail and internet.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.

  • Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.
