Lead CMS Technology Development Technician - BWX Technologies, Inc - Barberton, OH

Requirements:

• CMS (Coordinate Measurement System) Technology Development Technicians are responsible for developing and implementing new metrology technology, systems, and processes for inspection and measurement applications.

• Will be required to train, develop, and qualify CMS Technicians with scanning technology software & equipment, data acquisition and analysis, and advanced metrology inspection methods.

• Will be responsible for integrating new or existing technologies into manufacturing processes for the purpose of improving product quality and / or span reduction.

• Must have demonstrated experience working with a variety of 3D metrology system such as Laser Trackers, CMM’s, Scanning Systems, Articulated Arm, Vision System.

• Responsible for testing and validating new technology and system for accuracy, developing procedures and work instruction to govern their use and establishing training and qualification requirements.

• Must be cabled of serving as an NDE Test Examiner in this role.

  Qualifications:

• Minimum A.S. degree in technical field, or a minimum 4 years of relevant experience

• Candidate must have a advanced knowledge of mechanical drawings and blue print reading along with basic knowledge of the ASME Y14.5 GD&T standard.

• Strong 3-D visualization skills and some experience with 3-D CAD/Modeling are required with experience in Siemens NX, or SolidWorks.

• Advanced capabilities and experience in performing reverse engineering of complex surfaces using high- and low-density scan data.

• Previous experience using Laser Trackers, Articulated CMM's, and 3D Scanning system required.

• Must have experience at an advanced level using PolyWorks Inspector and Modeler.

• Must possess excellent math, geometry and analysis skills and should be proficient with MS Office.

• Candidate must be willing to perform hands on work in a manufacturing environment including working inside of confined spaces and at heights.

• Must be willing to work back shifts and weekends, as required, per schedule demands.

• Must be able to obtain a security clearance.
