About the Role
Dow Jones is seeking an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to join our AI Engineering Team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, deploying, and maintaining machine learning models that are scalable, reliable, and production-ready. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate these models into software systems, ensuring they deliver actionable insights and operational value.
As a key member of the team, you will focus on optimizing models for real-world performance, building efficient data pipelines, and implementing monitoring systems to ensure ongoing reliability. Your expertise in machine learning frameworks, system integration, and model optimization will be crucial in driving the success of our AI initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to design, develop, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines for extraction, transformation, loading (ETL), and storage.
Develop machine learning solutions and models that address real-world challenges in the media domain that positively impact users globally.
Ensure machine learning systems are production-ready by balancing accuracy, latency, and cost while meeting performance goals.
Understanding of machine learning models, techniques and metrics which allow to engage in conversations with data scientists.
Identify and troubleshoot issues related to production systems, which includes APIs and pipeline performance, applying problem-solving skills.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders and data providers to gather requirements and ensure project alignment.
Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data engineering and ETL processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related STEM field.
At least 3 years of industrial experience in a machine learning engineering role
Solid understanding of data processing techniques, including extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and services (e.g., AWS, GCP, etc.).
Familiarity with database systems, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
Familiarity with NLP and Machine Learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., PyTorch, HuggingFace, LangChain, spaCy, NLTK, scikit-learn, etc.)
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in identifying and troubleshooting issues.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Continuous learning mindset with a willingness to stay updated with industry trends and best practices.
Familiar with API design and implementation to provide ML/AI services
