Manual Machinist
We are immediately hiring a Manual Machinist in Lacey Township, New Jersey !!
Job Description
Set up and operate conventional metal working machines (lathes and mills) to machine parts to specification. Calculate machine speeds, feeds, and depths of cuts to achieve finish requirements. Interpret drawings and specifications for manufacturing parts. Collaborate with engineers to machine custom parts. Keep work instructions and procedures up-to-date. Maintain inventory of expendable tooling. Work effectively in a team environment. Perform various other duties as assigned by the supervisor within the physical constraints of the job. This is a full-time, long-term position.
Skills
Set up and operate manual mills, lathes, and other conventional machining equipment
Machine parts from blueprints and drawings within tolerances of ±0.001 to ±0.005 inches
Assist with shop duties such as heavy lifting, cleaning, assembly
Ability to calculate machine speeds, feeds, and depths of cuts
Interpretation of blueprints, drawings, and specifications
Experience with Bridgeport milling machines is a plus
Machining equipment maintenance
Experience with design and build, reverse engineering, or custom part machining is a plus
Work Environment
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
