The Carpenter Helper is primarily responsible for assisting the Carpenter in the building of structures, according to blueprints and building specifications.

Primary tasks, duties, and responsibilities:

• Assist carpenters in constructing, erecting, installing and repairing structures via use of hand and power tools.
• Establish reference points and assist in the layout of building lines.
• Set doors, windows and frames including installation of hardware.
• Build scaffolding, shoring, and braces.
• Install finish work including trim and cabinets.
• Smooth and sand surfaces using power sanders.
• Lift, carry and hold building materials, tools, and supplies.
• Assist in maintaining and servicing tools, machines and general project inventory.
• Unload and inventory materials from deliveries.
• Maintain job site cleanliness and safety.
