ARTIDIS System Administrator in Basel, Switzerland

Job Purpose

The System Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and reliable operation of computer systems, servers, and network infrastructure. This role ensures that the IT systems are functioning smoothly, securely, and efficiently, supporting the organization's operations and objectives. The System Administrator monitors system performance, troubleshoots issues, manages backups, ensures data integrity, and implements necessary updates and patches. Additionally, they are tasked with safeguarding the organization's data and ensuring compliance with security protocols, while also providing technical support and guidance to users and teams.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain IT systems, software, and hardware.

  • Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.

  • Manage network infrastructure and ensure optimal network performance.

  • Implement and enforce security policies, including user access controls and data protection.

  • Perform regular backups and manage disaster recovery plans.

  • Document system configurations, procedures, and maintain system documentation.Provide technical support and training to users and teams.

  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory IT requirements.

Qualifications

  • Min. 2 years of experience in a similar position

  • Good knowledge of computer administration in Windows and Linux environments 

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft O365 (SharePoint, Exchange, Teams) 

  • Good knowledge of Azure Active Directory 

  • Experience in user and rights management 

  • Experience in setting up and maintaining on-premise and cloud server infrastructure 

  • Experience in working with network equipment 

  • Experience in user support

  • Very good command of English (B2 or equivalent)

Preferred 

  • Experience with PowerShell 

  • Experience in working with Linux 

  • Experience in working on IT projects in Enterprise environments

  • Windows, Linux or network certificate

  • Experience with any of the following:

  • ISO/IEC 20000-1 Information technology — Service management — Part 1: Service management system requirements

  • ISO/IEC 27001 Information technology — Security techniques — Information security management systems — Requirements

  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)

  • Control Objectives for Information and Related Technologies (COBIT)
