Job Purpose:

The Interface Engineer is responsible for tracking and managing interface issues under the guidance of the Interface Manager and Interface Lead. This includes managing interfaces between Mods, Projects, and various streams, as well as liaising with BOC, OPS, MP, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for in-country engineering interfaces between various departments, contractors, and external stakeholders (e.g., BOC).

  • Ensure smooth communication and coordination across multidisciplinary teams to prevent interface issues.

  • Support the Interface Lead in identifying and managing interface points between different project elements.

  • The role is limited to facilitating and managing interface communications and issues. Any decision-making authority regarding interfaces must be escalated to the Interface Lead and Interfacing Manager for final decisions.

  • Collaborate with the document control team to ensure proper dissemination of interface-related documents.

  • Assist in identifying potential interface-related risks and conflicts early in the project lifecycle.

  • Work with relevant teams to develop mitigation strategies and ensure that all risks are communicated to the Interface Lead and Interfacing Manager.

  • Support the resolution of any in-country technical or operational interface conflicts by escalating issues to the relevant stakeholders.

  • Ensure conflicts are handled promptly and in accordance with company guidelines, reporting unresolved issues to the Interface Lead and Interfacing Manager.

  • Monitor the timely delivery of interface-related deliverables in line with project schedules.

  • Ensure alignment between contractors, vendors, and project teams regarding interface-related tasks.

  • Provide regular updates to the Interface Lead and Interfacing Manager on the status of interface activities and any potential issues.

  • Update the Interface Tracker and submit weekly reports detailing interface performance and ongoing issues to ensure transparency with line managers.

  • The Interfacing Engineer must not make independent decisions or implement changes that could impact project scope, schedule, or cost without prior approval from the Interface Lead and Interfacing Manager.

  • The Interfacing Engineer must ensure that all actions and recommendations align with the direction of line managers and must not influence or initiate changes independently

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

  • Knowledge of relevant construction codes, standards, and regulations in the Middle East region

  • Proficiency in project management software and tools
