Job Title: Building Maintenance Technician (Baton Rouge, LA)
Job Description
This candidate will be responsible for driving 500-2000 miles a week to various commercial outlet stores within the region to perform and complete work orders for maintenance. The maintenance tasks include painting, plumbing, electrical, masonry, cleaning, welding, drywall, and working with locks. The candidate must be proficient in communication with customers and technically skilled to complete work orders. The candidate will primarily work alone but may call for assistance on specific projects.
Responsibilities
Drive 500-2000 miles weekly to commercial outlet stores to perform maintenance tasks.
Complete work orders involving painting, plumbing, electrical, masonry, cleaning, welding, drywall, and locks.
Communicate effectively with customers to understand and complete their maintenance needs.
Work independently and call for assistance when necessary.
Log hours, document work, and communicate via the internal system using the ADP app.
Essential Skills
Experience with commercial electrical tasks such as troubleshooting light poles, changing breakers, installing new circuits, soldering, and changing out water heaters.
Proficiency in residential/commercial plumbing tasks such as drain cleaning, and changing toilets, sinks, and faucets.
Experience with painting tasks including touch-ups, hand brushes, and using spray guns.
Proficiency in drywall tasks such as hanging, finishing, and Level 5 finish capabilities.
Experience with masonry tasks involving brick and stone work.
Welding experience, including MIG, stick, and spot welds for gate hinges or fencing.
Experience with residential/commercial pad locks and electrical locks.
Comfortable driving 500-2000 miles a week and using own vehicle for travel.
Familiarity with logging hours and documenting work using the ADP app.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
Experience in facility maintenance, building maintenance, troubleshooting, and general maintenance.
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools such as angle grinder, tape measure, multimeter, circular saw, drywall tools, impact driver, and oscillating saw.
Steel-toe boots are recommended; PPE provided includes masks, respirators, harnesses, goggles, and gloves.

Work Environment
The standard work shift is from 7am to 6pm with a 30-minute lunch break, Monday through Friday, with voluntary work on Saturdays if needed. Employees can expect to work 10-20 hours of overtime weekly. Training lasts for the first week. The work involves a mix of indoor and outdoor tasks and will typically involve reaching 3-8 clients a day. Communication with supervisors and store managers is essential for completing work orders and using the internal database to log hours and submit work orders. The candidate will travel 500-2000 miles a week using their own vehicle.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Spring Lake, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00
