Job Description

We are looking for a Software Developer to support the ongoing conversion of database specific code from an Oracle database to MS SQL Server database. The Software Developer will work under the supervision of a Team Lead, allowing the team member to gain hands on knowledge of best practices in the software development while supporting client needs This position will be Full-Time and Remote .

This opportunity exists within CAI’s Neurodiverse Solutions business unit, all candidates in consideration of positions within CAI’s Neurodiverse Solutions must be able to self-disclose that they identify as neurodivergent.

Due to our end client and project work, this role does not offer visa sponsorship.

What You’ll Do

  • Utilize Classic ASP, ASP.Net, C# and Microsoft Access applications to convert database specific code from an Oracle database layer to an MS SQL Server database

  • Collaborate with team members to perform code and security reviews, making sure any necessary remediations are completed

  • Review bug reports to identify, follow up on errors, and make necessary corrective changes

  • Perform unit testing on code to prepare it for function testing by the quality assurance teams

  • Design and execute major enhancements to existing systems to improve performance and functionality

  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies to continually improve our development practices

What You'll Need

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field

  • Prior experience with Object Oriented Programming Languages (I.E. C#, Java)

  • Prior experience with SQL concepts (i.e. joins, extract, transfer, load)

  • Exposure to developing and delivering products in a collaborative, Agile / SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle) environment

  • Ability to be flexible, resourceful, quick to learn and adapt to change

  • Demonstrated initiative, problem solving, and self-leadership skills

  • Attention to detail and strong decision-making skills

  • Excellent written and active communication skills

Preferred:

  • Additional certifications relevant to Software Development, Software Testing or a related field (i.e. CompTIA ITF+, CompTIA A+)

  • Prior experience with automated testing frameworks (i.e. Cucumber/Selenium)

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards

  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor.

  • Must be able to communicate with customers/team members over the phone and in person

  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
