Grace Health Patient Services Coordinator in Battle Creek, Michigan

In this position, you will assist the Patient Services Assistants staff with daily operations such as resolving non-clinical operational issues, including patient schedules, patient flow, and patient relations with efficiency and professionalism. You will be over the education and training of staff to ensure effective orientation and mentorship, as well as fostering continuous professional development within the patient services team.

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

1) Possesses work related skills at a higher level than completion of high school, including formal written and verbal communications skills, computational and computer skills, mathematical, technical or health care related knowledge frequently acquired through on-the-job training.

2) You are expected to learn and maintain higher level skills in addition to the basic training of a patient services coordinator.

3) You are expected to learn and maintain basic and department-specific understanding of insurances, and how to identify and apply them in the patient electronic medical record.

4) Demonstrate understanding of consent for care by ensuring representation for the patient and that paperwork is completed accordingly.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED

  • One year of work experience in a medical organization preferred
