Responsibilities
The Clinic Receptionist is responsible for facilitating a positive patient experience through friendly coordination and advocacy in terms of reception registration and other interactions during the patient's stay in the facility. Duties include assisting in proper identification of the patient by collection of patient demographics information. Employing excellent customer service skills the Clinic Receptionist is responsible for ensuring a positive patient experience throughout the registration process.
In order to ensure appropriate reimbursement for services rendered primary duties include:
Appropriate patient identification
Collecting accurate and thorough patient demographic data
Obtaining insurance information and verifying eligibility and benefits
Determining and collecting patient financial liability
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
This position performs a variety of reception and clerical duties including registration, insurance verification, and collection of co-pays.
Copy/scan patient access related hardcopy materials (e.g. ID, referrals, insurance cards, etc.) into the correct location in the electronic medical record.
Prepare charts for patient appointments making sure all necessary information is complete.
Resolve routine patient billing inquiries and problems, handling follow-up questions from patients, resolving discrepancies or errors.
Answer phone calls and direct them appropriately.
Schedule appointments according to office guidelines.
Must be detail oriented and have strong organizational skills.
Demonstrate effective customer service and communication skills.
Proficient computer skills.
Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism.
Perform other duties as assigned.
The position is responsible for following all compliance of Medicare and HIPAA policies.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Able to perform basic mathematics for payment calculation
Intermediate computer skills
Preferred
Healthcare experience
Thorough understanding of insurance policies and procedures (will train)
Working knowledge of medical terminology
Pay Range
$14.78 - $20.33 /hour
