Responsibilities:
Maintains the complex’s process control equipment
Performs application work on plant process computer systems. (problem diagnosis, repair, design revision, and installation)
Completes daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly PMs on the DCS and PLC systems
Perform software program modifications on control systems (Yokogawa, Triconex and PLCs)
Assists Control Systems Specialists and Instrumentation & Control Engineers with design/implementation of projects
Debugs equipment and recommends modifications for reliable low maintenance operation
Performs maintenance service repairs on control systems hardware
Installs hardware for upgrades and/or modifications of process control equipment
Consults with operations and maintenance team to establish remedies for malfunctioning control system instrumentation and recommends corrective action
Recommends improvements for control systems and life cycle hardware
Assists in the checkout of instrument control loops in existing plants or plant expansions
Works with contractors to ensure proper installation of DCS/PLC hardware
Provides technical support to Reliability, Instrument, and electrical groups with troubleshooting issues
Provides 24-hour on-call Control Systems support
Attend Factory Acceptance Test and Site Acceptance Test
Work with engineering to accomplish project goals
Required Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in Instrumentation or Electronics OR High School diploma/GED with maintenance service work experience performed on DCS and/or PLC equipment
Understanding of electronic theory and digital logic system
Ability to instruct maintenance team in troubleshooting techniques and maintenance procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of plant chemical process(es)
Strong instrumentation troubleshooting
Knowledge of Foundation Fieldbus
This is a non-exempt fixed-rate position. The initial wage rate will be tied to the applicable progression schedule.
