Purpose/Introduction
We are seeking a qualified Senior Process Optimization Engineer to join the Olefins Process Optimization team at our Cedar Bayou Facility in Baytown, TX.
Responsibilities
Serve as Olefins Process Subject Mater Expert for the Cedar Bayou Facility
Conduct ongoing and day-to-day process optimization of ethylene unit(s) to maximize company profitability
Utilize and build tools and models as needed to identify improvement opportunities
Ensure unit is running to constraints, evaluate the appropriateness of these constraints, and challenge limits and performance when opportunities exist
Monitor equipment health and make recommendations to improve profitability and reliability. Identify process reliability issues before they impact safety or production.
Support operations/site with economic and process analysis requests, continuously seeking improvement opportunities
Contribute to larger projects or initiatives by performing process/economic studies as needed
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering.
At least 12 years of experience in petrochemical or refining industry
Olefins or Process Optimization experience
Proficient with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent time management skills
Positive attitude and ability to maintain team harmony
Preferred Qualifications
15 years of experience in chemical manufacturing
10 years of Olefins experience with multiple crackers
Process modeling/simulation experience (RTO, Aspen, PRO/II, etc)
