About This Role:
The Assistant Director of Admissions – Recruitment is responsible for meeting targeted growth goals among graduate and international students by representing and marketing Lamar University to prospective students through supervision of assigned staff and managing an individual caseload. The Assistant Director directs the development, planning, implementation and evaluation of student recruitment and yield activities.
What You’ll Do – Position Responsibilities:
Data Analysis & Strategy Development: Analyze and interpret data to identify trends and opportunities for building and executing annual recruitment plans to attract graduate and international students to Lamar University.
Communication and Outreach: Implement and execute annual communication and marketing plans for each graduate program at Lamar University and engage with prospective students through direct proactive outreach initiatives.
Collaboration & Partnership Building: Establish partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including Graduate Studies, International Education, Marketing and Communications, and other relevant agencies to support overall recruitment goals.
University Representation & Service: Serve on university and college committees, collaborate with educational institutions and professional organizations, and participate in recruitment, enrollment, and retention events. Other job-related duties may be assigned as needed.

- Ability to lift, load, and transport recruitment materials, displays, and other equipment up to 35 pounds
Job Conditions:
Working in an office environment, with the ability to travel and work a varied schedule with flexible hours including some weekends and evenings

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in leadership, business management or another related field.
2- 3 years of progressive recruitment/admission and or higher education.

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in leadership, business management, higher education, or another related field.
1-2 years of experience in graduate or international recruiting.
Experience with student information platforms. (i.e. Banner, PeopleSoft, Slate, etc.).
