REQUIREMENT
We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Developer to join our application development team while serving as a forward-engineer for application systems deployed at U.S. Space Force locations. The ideal candidate will be comfortable deploying and troubleshooting applications in Windows and Linux environments and have a strong software development background in .NET or a similar object-oriented programming (OOP) language. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a remote team are a must.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support application deployment, troubleshooting ,and debugging for operational users.
- Design, develop, and maintain software applications to meet user needs.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in .NET or a similar OOP language.
- Participate in code reviews, contributing to team knowledge and best practices.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance development practices.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

- Knowledge of database systems and data management practices (e.g. SQL).
- Familiarity with Message Passing Interface (MPI) or similar parallelization methods.
- Experience working with scalable data formats (e.g. netCDF).
Desirable
Skills:
- Experience working with geospatial software tools (e.g. OSG Earth, Cesium, QGis)
- Skill in Windows WinForm GUI development.
- Scientific or physics simulation experience.
- Experience with legacy languages/technologies (e.g. COM, VB6, Fortran).
- Cloud development/deployment experience (e.g. AWS CDK).
EDUCATIONAL, CLEARANCE AND CERTIFICATION
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, and 5 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience in software development, and concrete experience with Windows desktop application development.
- Proficient in .NET or a similar OOP language (e.g., Java, C++) and associated development stack (e.g. NuGet, Visual Studio).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
PHYSICAL/WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Primary work environment is a standard office setting.
TRAVEL
- Travel is not anticipated, but if performed will be under the guidelines of Federal Travel Regulations and/or Joint Travel Regulations.
