Nike Merchant II, Mens Lifestyle Footwear Asia Pacific Latin America in Beaverton, Oregon

We are looking for a Merchant II to support the Lifestyle Men's footwear team with in-depth analysis and the creation of business-related reports, tracking competitors, accounts as well as Nike digital platform, and market trends. You will manage product flow across multiple seasons, assist in setting product differentiation and segmentation strategies, and keep product journeys and merchandising tools up to date. A passion for products and fashion, a consumer-centric mindset, and strong business acumen are essential for success in this role as well as curiosity to working in a cross-cultural environment to serve consumers across Asia, Pacific and Latin America.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You’ll partner with several cross-functional teams – consumer planning, product creation, GEO merch, and consumer insights & analytics as well as the gender merchandising teams. A key enabler of your success will be your background and experience in retail.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, Marketing, or equivalent combination of education, experience and training

  • 2+ years of experience in Retail, Merchandising, Product Management, Marketplace, Buying

  • Demonstrated understanding of consumer and marketplace

  • Entrepreneurial spirit, experience working on new projects/start-ups/concepts/ideas

  • Proficiency in analyzing business and consumer trends

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to collaboratively manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including presentations to various cross-functional partners

  • Team first mentality, energy giver

  • Responsible for coordinating product samples, including setting up showroom with team, retrieving samples from Global counterparts, and occasionally shipping them to various territories we support

  • Advantageous to have strong analytical skills, with intermediate Excel, Tableau experience, and the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies and inform findings to broader team

  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment, demonstrating cultural awareness and adaptability

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

A consistent part of your day-to-day responsibilities will be the detailed management, maintenance and communication of all seasonal tools and assortments. Enabling this effort will be the development of key relationships among cross-functional teammates, comfort with research and analysis, along with a genuine curiosity and commitment to learn and evolve.

This role will require the candidate to manage a portion of the business, taking ownership of strategy development and execution. They will be responsible for creating seasonal assortments that align with the brand’s objectives and market trends. Additionally, they will oversee the launch and release of quick strikes, ensuring timely and successful execution in the market. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional partners, leveraging market insights and consumer data to influence and guide future product creation. Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to connect the dots between business needs and consumer expectations in a fast-paced, cross-cultural environment are essential.
