WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for a Senior Designer for Footwear to join the Energy team at the Jordan Brand. The Senior Designer has a passion for all things in design, a high taste level, a strong connection to culture and community, working as a team, and focus on details and craft. They are able to work on design concepts, produce CAD’s, work on materials and color design as well as graphic design. They are able to bring the vision of Jordan Brand in partnership with collaborators to life, through thoughtful and innovative design solutions.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

You'll build innovative footwear designs that advance the product aesthetic and performance for our agitator consumer. You'll follow the execution of all product details including construction, form, color, materials, style, fit, and performance. You'll actively seek authoritative recommendations to develop designs with regard to cost/value requirements, manufacturability, sustainability, merchandising, and aesthetic finish. You will work on packaging and graphics for each project using it as a vessel for storytelling and design. You will bring storytelling to life through the design, materials, and color.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will collaborate with the Senior Design Director and work with high profile collaborators in the music industry, design, and find artists, to create high impact product that sets the tone for youth culture as well as the brand. You'll collaborate with design and management teams on innovative footwear concepts from brief to market. You'll connect with members in design, development, product management, costing, and engineering to ensure feasibility of designs while adhering to product creation timeline. You'll communicate and present design concepts to various internal and external audiences. Encouraging community and mentoring others are also expectations for this role.

WHAT YOU BRING

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree in product design or relevant design degree or a combination of relevant education, experience, and training.

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience designing and developing innovative footwear products

  • Previous footwear design experience required

  • Proficient in Photoshop and Illustrator skills

  • 3D design program experience a plus

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, plastics, and other engineering materials are ideal

  • Active and proficient participant in the creative process and cross-functional communication

  • Communicate and present design concepts to internal and external audiences

  • Collaborate and communicate cross-functionally with key partners

  • Significant engagement with external partners

  • Cobbling and prototyping skills are a plus

  • 3D design program experience are a plus

  • Strong sketching, illustration, and rendering skills

  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials

  • Must be able to generate a broad range of concepts and solutions for each project
