Oversees the installation and maintenance of industrial equipment. Responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. This includes installing new equipment, performing regular services and maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting equipment breakdowns.

Responsibilities:

  • Reading and interpreting engineering and electrical blueprints and schematics.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical breakdowns.
  • Servicing, repairing and maintaining equipment including motors, conveyor systems, transmission systems, and production-related equipment.
  • Inspecting and assessing the functionality of production machines, including assessing the performance of each machine with its operator.
  • Adjusting mechanical parts using hand and machine tools.
  • Fabricating parts for repairs and machine upgrades.
  • Conducting routine preventative maintenance and safety checks.
  • Sourcing and ordering parts required for breakdown repair and preventative maintenance.
  • Communicating with the production team.
  • Maintaining a clean work area and the organized storage of spare parts.
  • Preparing and submitting maintenance reports.
  • Installing new production equipment.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Previous work experience as an industrial maintenance technician.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems maintenance, including 480V 3-phase electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Knowledge of industrial control systems and components, including servo motors, encoders, and PLC inputs and outputs.
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations, including best-practice lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic mathematics, computer, and report writing skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate heavy equipment. Must be able to lift 50 to 75 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of the job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
  • Lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, crawling under, and working overhead.
