Amazon M365 - IT Application Dev Engineer, Kuiper Production Operations in Bellevue, Washington

Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

Kuiper M365 Engineering team configures, deploys and manages M365 productivity services, enabling collaboration through secure, reliable, and highly-available services. These services empower the daily operations for Kuiper Manufacturing and Kuiper Government Solutions. We are seeking an M365 engineer to efficiently design, implement, and operate M365 suite in GCC High Environment. Primary focus will be on maintaining reliable and secure M365 collaborations services, troubleshooting issues, and providing engineering support to our team.

  • Design and implement Productivity application in Kuiper environments using Infrastructure as Code.

  • Identify, research, recommend, and implement Microsoft 365 services such as Teams, SharePoint, Exchange, OneDrive, Voice.

  • Serve as the administrator for M365 services such as Teams, SharePoint, Exchange, OneDrive, Voice.

  • Enforce compliance with principals including: least privilege access, password management, Audit logging for all productivity applications.

  • Drive 3rd party secure collaboration efforts to accelerate Kuiper projects.

  • Partner with Amazon security organizations to ensure compliance with existing security policies.

  • Engage with and influence the key stakeholders and internal teams to ensure compliance, security and operational functional requirements are met or exceeded.

  • Create and implement automated processes that reduce manual efforts and increase overall efficiency and scalability.

  • Develop monitoring and reporting on the health, effectiveness and efficiency of productivity services.

  • Develop and maintain documentation for the Microsoft 365 environment for both engineering audience as well as end users,

A day in the life

As a member of KM365 you will join our morning standups to discuss progress on projects and services across the team. On meeting days, you will attend Operations reviews, Document reviews, and project meetings. The team also has dedicated engineering days where you will be heads down on development, operations, and support.

About the team

This team collaborate with Amazon Security teams and key stakeholders to intake requirements and deliver a customer productivity experience to Project Kuiper specific resources.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on systems engineering experience

  • Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)

  • Administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems

  • Experience with PowerShell (preferred) or Python for automation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with M365 services like Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange

  • Experience configuring M365 services with Desired State Configuration (DSC)

  • Experience with CI/CD AWS pipelines

  • Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
