The Manager, Product & Engineering is responsible for driving the design, product and technical build, support and maintenance of a key product or limited product portfolio, as well as the supporting technology capabilities and infrastructure that support that product in an Agile environment. Most often leading teams of 5 - 10 FTE and may lead teams of onshore and offshore contracting companies. Direct reporting line may include team(s) of Product Manager(s), Product Owner(s), technical and solution architecture, DevOps management, Test, as well as full stack Software Development. This position has Product Management responsibility for the target state billing platform. Day-to-day tasks include collaboration with our business partners to ensure great customer happiness, developing and maintaining an accurate, resilient data platform and working with our vendor partners. This role is accountable for the Product lifecycle of the platform and the products supported by the platform. The Manager, Product & Engineering is also responsible for attracting, hiring, retaining a high performing, full stack, team of Product Managers, Software Developers, architects, other members of technical staff to support products and platforms. This role is also directly accountable for developing strong and productive relationships outside your direct teams with Customer or Customer representative teams, partner organizations, dependent engineering teams, and supporting vendors. Job Responsibilities: Drives the prioritization and planning of the teams development roadmap, manages backlog and ensures timely delivery of capabilities Mentors their team on standard processes in Product Management and drives Customer Experience improvements Effectively leads product and engineering team to achieve results by providing appropriate direction, timely developmental feedback and mentor, and conducting performance evaluations and conversations. Monitors and measures work tasks to ensure deliverables are provided on time and within budget. Manages both technical relationships with assigned vendors, including driving features and function requests for inclusion in future product releases. Drives continuous development practice improvements across technical subject areas (e.g. team structure, roles, processes, tooling, security & compliance). Interviews and hires qualified team members, striving to improve T-Mobile bench strength and augmenting product or project teams with contract staff when required. Education: Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Engineering, IT or equivalent experience. (Required) Work Experience: 4-7 years Product Management experience in an agile software product development environment. (Required) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Agile Methodologies Knowledge in software with Agile Scrum methodologies and other commonly used tools. (Required) Familiarity with software development in Telecom/Billing environments using languages such as Java and Spring (Preferred) Technical Writing Strong requirements elicitation, and proven writing skills including the ability to write concisely and clearly for different audiences.
