Amazon Senior Instructional Designer, RME Global Talent Development, Global Central RME Team in Bellevue, Washington

Description

Amazon's Global Talent Development (GTD) team is seeking a Senior Instructional Designer to join our dynamic learning and development function. This role will drive organizational learning initiatives, innovate instructional methodologies, and design effective learning content. You will collaborate with the GTD team, working alongside motivated learning experts to shape strategy, build relationships, lead special projects, and ensure the successful design, delivery, and evaluation of educational programs. You will conduct training needs assessments and design innovative learning solutions using various modalities, including simulations, gamification, and self-directed learning.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional, enterprise-wide learning programs

  • Craft and execute innovative and measurable learning journeys considering a range of modalities including digital learning, on-the-job, blended, mobile learning, performance support, simulations and gamified approaches

  • Oversee multiple large-scale projects, ensuring alignment with adult learning principles and organizational goals

  • Anticipate potential risks, adjust project strategies to meet adult learning needs (e.g. customization, flexibility), and develop mitigation strategies

  • Use data and feedback to prioritize deliverables and demonstrate return on investments

  • Partner with senior Stakeholders and SME’s to conduct detailed training needs assessments

  • Influence company-wide policies and procedures related to learning and development

  • Mentor junior instructional designers and develop future leaders

About the team

The RME Global Talent Development team is dedicated to transforming workplace learning through science, data, and innovation. Our mission is to deliver targeted training and performance support to the right people at the right time. By building essential capabilities, we empower RME teams with the maintenance skills and equipment expertise needed to grow, develop, and scale effectively.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in learning design, learning science, instructional design, educational psychology, or similar field.

  • 7+ years’ experience in designing innovative learning to support adult learners in a corporate context

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in learning design, learning science, instructional design, educational psychology, or similar field

• Experience using quantitative and/or qualitative research methods

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $215,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
