Midwest Goods Inc. Human Resources Coordinator in Bensenville, Illinois

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Status: Full-time (Exempt)

Compensation: $60,000 per year

$300 Sign-On Bonus After the Completion of the 90-Day Probationary Period

Summary/Objective

The HR Coordinator supports management and employees by handling HR processes, benefits administration, payroll coordination, compliance, and employee engagement. This role improves HR policies, ensures smooth departmental workflows, and serves as a key point of contact for HR-related inquiries.

Payroll & Benefits Administration

  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations.

  • Coordinate payroll deductions, including garnishments, PTO, and insurance.

  • Ensure accuracy in payroll processing and collaborate with the Accounting team.

  • Provide employees with payroll guidance and resolve payroll-related inquiries.

  • Maintain HRIS data integrity and troubleshoot payroll issues within ADP.

HR Compliance & Record-Keeping

  • Ensure compliance with hiring regulations (E-Verify, I-9, audits).

  • Maintain and update employee records in hard and digital formats.

  • Monitor and track timekeeping, attendance records, and PTO requests.

  • Conduct regular audits of HR files and payroll records for accuracy.

Employee Engagement & Support

  • Conduct new hire orientations and assist with onboarding.

  • Organize and execute employee engagement events and recognition programs.

  • Oversee the ordering and distribution of employee apparel and gifts.

  • Act as a point of contact for HR-related inquiries and issue resolution.

HR Reporting & Data Management

  • Develop and maintain HR KPI reports for performance tracking.

  • Generate and analyze HR-related data to support decision-making.

  • Assist in maintaining HR documentation, forms, and policy materials.

General HR Support

  • Ensure HR supplies, forms, and materials are stocked and available.

  • Support performance review processes and maintain related dashboards.

  • Stay updated on HR best practices and contribute to process improvements.

  • Handle additional responsibilities as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

  • Office setting with standard office equipment.

Physical Demands

  • Occasional lifting of office supplies (up to 20 lbs).

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM.

Travel

  • Regular travel between office locations (reliable transportation required).

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

  • 2+ years of HR or related experience.

  • Proficiency in ADP payroll system and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).

  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and timekeeping software.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • HR certifications (PHR, SHRM-CP).

  • Experience with payroll audits and compliance.

  • Knowledge of labor laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA).

  • Project management experience in HR functions.
