TITLE: Manager Engineering I

DUTIES: Manage all personnel aspects of the team including hiring, managing individual performance, compensation, job assignments, dealing with conflicts, career building and coaching. Mentor and advise junior developers and new team members by providing basis and on-the job training to enhance skills. Collaborate with various team leaders and managers to discuss product functionality, performance, plans and field support escalations. Perform code contributions and code reviews while maintaining high coding and quality standards. Coordinate with the Product Line group and Head of Software Development to effectively align product development and execution. Research innovative software technologies, best practices, and current industry trends and facilitate their adoption by the team. Hybrid position with 40% telecommuting permitted within a normal commutable distance of the Bentonville, AR office location.

SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

LOCATION: Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions, Inc., 609 SW 8th Street, Suite 525, Bentonville AR 72712

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related field and eight (8) years of experience as a Software Engineer or a closely related occupation.

Special Skills: Also requires two (2) years of experience in the following:

Leading/Managing a high performing team in customer support/development environments.

Development languages including Java, C++, Python.

Development methods, and practices including Waterfall, Agile, Test Driven Development.

Software deployment in a customer production retail environment. This includes POS as well as Pharmacy systems including integrations between the two.

Root-cause issue identification and remediation in a production retail point of sale environment. These environments could include Windows, Linux and TCxSky/Os4690 based systems.
