Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc, a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional and talented Manufacturing Engineer I-III based at our manufacturing facility in Berea, KY . In this role, you'll be a key player in advancing our manufacturing processes, supporting automation projects, and contributing to our company's ongoing growth and transformation.

What you will do:

  • Optimize Manufacturing Processes: Develop and maintain manufacturing processes, including tooling, equipment, material specifications, and quality standards to ensure efficient, safe product assembly.

  • Support Key Projects: Contribute to important initiatives such as capital improvements, New Product Introductions (NPI), and continuous improvement efforts, with a strong focus on automation and ergonomics.

  • Research & Development: Innovate and implement new manufacturing methods, tools, and automation technologies to streamline operations and reduce manual labor.

  • Drive Efficiency: Identify and eliminate waste in production processes, applying lean manufacturing principles to improve productivity.

  • Project Oversight: Manage and provide technical oversight for large-scale automation investments, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.

  • Transformational Leadership: Lead or actively participate in the Manufacturing Transformation Program, driving improvements in production efficiency and automation across the organization.

What you will need:

Level I:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or an Associate's degree with 3-5 years of relevant manufacturing experience.

  • Experience: 3-5 years in manufacturing or equivalent education.

Level II:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred, or Associate's degree with 5-7 years of relevant manufacturing experience.

  • Experience: 5-7 years in manufacturing or equivalent education.

Level III:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or Associate's degree with 7-10 years of relevant manufacturing experience.

  • Experience: 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing, with significant expertise in process optimization and automation.

Skills, Experience & Abilities

  • Leadership: Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and implement new concepts while managing and guiding teams.

  • Manufacturing Expertise: Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, welding, assembly, automation, and process control systems like PLCs.

  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills to resolve complex issues and implement permanent corrective actions.

  • Continuous Improvement: Experience with lean manufacturing principles, process improvement tools like 6σ, FMEA, and Control Plans.

  • Project Management: Proficient in managing multiple projects and overseeing automation investments.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
