Bettendorf Community School District is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Operations to oversee the district’s operational functions, ensuring efficient and effective management of facilities, transportation, and safety/security programs. This role is critical to providing a safe, well-maintained, and supportive environment for students, staff, and the community. Start Date:As Soon As Possible Letter of Assignment:12-month, 261-days Salary:$101,142 plus 8.5% annuityRequired qualifications for this position:
Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or Facilities Management Preferred
Three years’ leadership and/or management experience in custodial, maintenance, and/or transportation operations
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of school district operations, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Such alternative to the above qualifications as Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Key Responsibilities:
Facilities & Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operations of all district buildings and grounds, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Transportation: Manage student transportation services, including bus scheduling, driver oversight, and safety compliance.
Safety & Security: Develop and implement district-wide safety and emergency preparedness plans in collaboration with local agencies.
Budget & Compliance: Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation and adherence to policies and regulations.
Leadership & Team Management: Supervise operations staff, including facilities managers, transportation coordinators, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Communication: Work closely with school administrators, district leadership, and community partners to align operational functions with district goals.
