       Bettendorf Community School District is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Operations to oversee the district’s operational functions, ensuring efficient and effective management of facilities, transportation, and safety/security programs. This role is critical to providing a safe, well-maintained, and supportive environment for students, staff, and the community. Start Date:As Soon As Possible Letter of Assignment:12-month, 261-days Salary:$101,142 plus 8.5% annuityRequired qualifications for this position:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or Facilities Management Preferred

  • Three years’ leadership and/or management experience in custodial, maintenance, and/or transportation operations

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of school district operations, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Such alternative to the above qualifications as Board may find appropriate and acceptable

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilities & Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operations of all district buildings and grounds, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

  • Transportation: Manage student transportation services, including bus scheduling, driver oversight, and safety compliance.

  • Safety & Security: Develop and implement district-wide safety and emergency preparedness plans in collaboration with local agencies.

  • Budget & Compliance: Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation and adherence to policies and regulations.

  • Leadership & Team Management: Supervise operations staff, including facilities managers, transportation coordinators, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Work closely with school administrators, district leadership, and community partners to align operational functions with district goals.
