  • Prepares student Individualized Education Plans: In consultation with parents and IEP team members, drafts, develops , and implements IEP’s and transition plans with measurable goals.

  • Completes all special education paperwork accurately, according to regulations, and submits them on time.

  • Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.

  • Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.

Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes Fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education Education: 1. Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education or related discipline applicable to teaching assignment.

  • Masters Degree in related area preferred.

    Experience:

  • Experience with students with moderate and severe disabilities.

  • Applied Behavior Analysis and Positive Behavior Support training is required.

  • Organizational skill and ability to lead a large team and work cooperatively with others.
