Job Title: Community Services Manager
FLSA Status: Full Time - non-exempt Reports to: Corps Officer(s)
Schedule: Full Time (40 hours per week)Rate of Pay: $18/ hr

Benefits: Standard; Full-Time, Non-Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following:

Education and Work Experience: Bachelors degree in Social Work preferred. Education in Human Services or other area related to social services required. Two years experience in social service field required. Experience working with college-based and youth volunteer programs preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: He/she will work in close cooperation with the Corps Officer(s) and other Corps leaders and staff to support the total ministry of The Salvation Army both in the Corps and the local community.
He/she will assist in the oversight, organization and implementation of the Family Services Operations, both regular and seasonal.
Scope of Position/Essential Functions:
Provide emergency assistance to at risk populations.
Oversee and manage the implementation of all Community and/or Government funded social service programs while working closely with key staff, volunteers and Corps Officers.
Report concerns of child abuse, neglect and other crimes to police, DHQ and Corps Officers.
Create case management goals with clients.
Provide spiritual hope and encouragement to families in crisis.
Supervise and organize all major seasonal assistances while working closely with key staff, volunteers and Corps Officers.
Develop and continue strong relationships with other social service agencies and businesses.
Develop resources to educate clients and to eliminate homelessness.
Enter all client paperwork into the Wellsky
Make every effort to protect client information through confidentiality.
Manage duties and goals of staff, interns, and other volunteers when working under the social service program.
Run NSS statistics report and submit to Corps Officers monthly.
Develop assistance guidelines for clients.
Work closely with the Corps Officers and staff to develop and maintain good relationships with the volunteers.
Have an understanding of services offered in the community and make quality referrals.
Submit all documentation of services that require payment to the Financial Director.
Work closely with Corps Officers on financial focuses for assistance. Seek approval for any assistances that do not fall under that focus.
Assist with the organization of the Mobile Meal Program and other programs as they relate to clients.
Assist volunteers, co-workers and Corps Officers with all other duties as assigned by the Corps Officers.
Software-related Skills: Microsoft Word and Excel required, Outlook, and WellSky. Working knowledge of integrated database applications and ability to use new software programs with basic training.

Language Skills: Must be able to understand, follow and give both written and oral instructions and be able to give presentations and be comfortable with public speaking. The employee must be able to use speech and hearing for ordinary and telephone conversation.
Mathematical Skills: Must be able to perform simple calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) and apply concepts such as ratios and percentages in practical situations.

Sacred Boundaries and Protect The Mission: Must complete the Online course for this area and pass the Background Check required by The Salvation Army for Employment.
Driver Requirements: Must be minimally 21 years of age and possessing a valid Montana Driver's License. Must also have completed and passed The Salvation Army Driver Safety Course.
Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on intermittent or continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull, and reach overhead. Ability to operate telephone. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, Ability to access and produce information from a computer, Ability to understand written information.
