Job Description
The Facilities Maintenance Technician conducts many duties within the plant that relate to the smooth operations of the facility and related equipment. This can include installations, repairs to equipment and physical structures, electrical systems, and general routine maintenance.
Responsibilities
Responsible for general maintenance duties with direct or indirect supervision related to facility maintenance.
Duties can include, but are not limited to, patching, painting, general repair, and replacement work as required.
Following standard operating procedures, installs, inspects, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Assists with facility maintenance projects as assigned.
Checks and repairs pumps, fans, valves, motors, and other peripheral components.
Performs preventative maintenance such as cleaning, changing oils, and replacing worn parts.
Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
High school or GED diploma.
Two plus years of experience in building and maintenance work.
Ability to read and interpret service manuals and drawings.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to detect defects in equipment and make proper repairs.
Ability to work from sketches, diagrams, and prints, and in the care and use of tools and equipment used in trades involved.

Facilities maintenance expertise.
Installation and repair proficiency.
HVAC, electrical, and plumbing knowledge.

Work Environment
This position will work in a manufacturing setting with exposure to heavy equipment, machinery, and related noise levels. The position will frequently require walking, standing, bending, squatting, and continuous movement throughout the shift. Must be capable of lifting 0-50lbs in the proper ergonomic position.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Binghamton, New York.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
