Sitework Engineer (remote)

System One is currently seeking a Sitework Engineer (remote) on a 3 year contract position located in Birmingham, AL.

Sitework Engineer Responsibilities:

• Provide Sitework engineering services and field support.

• Preparation of designs and calculations.

• Conduct site walk downs.

• Develop cost estimates and material takeoffs.

• Maintain a safe work environment for yourself while also considering safety in the designs they are involved with.

• Efficiently transition between multiple projects and applying technical writing and Office suite skills daily.

• This position required travel 25% of the time.

  Sitework Engineer Requirements:

• 7-10 years of related experience with site work/grading design

• An accredited bachelor's degree in civil engineering.

• Knowledge of environmental regulations such as ADEM and MDEQ

• Ability to perform earth work calculations and construction material take-offs, and cost estimates

• Ability to coordinate with others in the production design documents

• Ability to provide oversight for permitting requirements (municipal, ALDOT, environmental, etc...) where necessary

• Extensive knowledge or certification of erosion and sediment control measures, perform hydrology calculations, balance a site and knowledge of retention pond design

• Proficient using AutoCAD Civil 3D for Civil Sitework Design

• Previous Sitework construction experience required. Ex: Grading work must display good technical writing skills

• Office suite proficiency

• Ability to build effective relationships with Grading Construction, design engineering team and customers.

• Approximately 2 weeks in the office to onboard and learn the team and processes, then remote work.

• Must live a maximum of 1 hour from the office.

  Duration: 3 years

  Location: Birmingham, AL (remote)

  Pay Rate: $54/hr

  This is a remote position however does require 2 weeks of training in the office.
