Responsibilities
CHI St. Alexius is looking for a Full Time Clinic Receptionit to join the team!
The Clinic Rceptionist is under the direction of the clinic supervisor/director. The Clinic Receptionist performs a variety of business office and reception duties accurately and with minimal supervision. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to: answering and routing phone calls in accordance with practice policies; scheduling patient appointments; greeting and registering patients; collecting, verifying and updating patient demographic and insurance information; gathering and coding charge information. Observes strict patient confidentiality in dealing with callers and with face to face patient interactions.
What You'll Do:
Responsible for scheduling all services in accordance with the policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines
Interview, review, registers, update, enters demographic and insurance information accurately and completely into an electronic medical record scheduling system
Smiles and greets all incoming patients immediately. Notifies appropriate clinical staff of each patient’s arrival and assures that patients are informed of any appointment delays if waiting more than 10 minutes from their appointment time.
Directs and screens all incoming call, gathers information, transfer to or takes message for appropriate staff in a professional, efficient manner endeavoring to maintain excellent public relations. Communicates information and messages accurately to other departments, physicians’ offices and outside agencies as directed by Clinic policy
Scheduling follow up and referral appointments
Reschedules and/or contacts all orphaned appointments within 24 hours of the time the original appointment was canceled
Accurately and timely records and updates physician schedules relating to call, vacation, meeting and clinic time.
Collaborates with clinical staff to manage referrals and ensure that test results and consultation reports are received back by clinic providers when patients are sent to outside facilities
Copies, mails, scans and files all medical information pertaining to patient records
Follows release of information policies and procedures when verifying and releasing requested medical information
Collects patient co-pays and issue’s receipts to patients
Cross train to perform basic clinical (nurse aid) and laboratory (phlebotomy and waived testing) processes as needed per clinic efficiencies.
Complete cross trained duties to include applicable training to maintain proficiency.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
Computer use and business related phone experience
Computer skills, knowledge of medical terminology and scheduling practices is required.
Pay Range
$15 - $19.815 /hour
