  • Ford Credit is seeking a dynamic Director, Learning & Development to lead our global learning strategy and significantly impact the success of our employees and dealer network. This pivotal role will shape the future of our workforce by designing, delivering, and evaluating impactful learning experiences that drive business results and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

  • The Director, Learning & Development plays an important leadership role in delivering and enhancing our training experience for Ford Credit employees, leaders, and dealers. The role will collaborate with key stakeholders across Ford Credit’s departments including Sales, Risk, Compliance, Business Operations, IT, Product, and others to ensure engaging, effective, and timely training for employees and dealers is developed, maintained, and delivered to support business needs. In addition, this role collaborates with other Ford Motor Company’s L&D teams to maximize alignment and synergies.

What you'll do...

  • Leads team to design and deliver learning experiences that create a capable organization of functionally and technically skilled motivated employees

  • Benchmarks, internally and externally, to incorporate industry best practices, trends, processes, and products and services into current Learning and Development strategies

  • Evolve and conducts enterprise-wide learning needs assessment to identify innovative solutions to achieve business outcomes.

  • Facilitate learning governance with senior internal HR and business stakeholders to seek input and update them on progress and initiatives

  • Drive alignment across skill teams, regions and centrally for synergies and efficiencies

  • Leads the development of relevant standards, procedures, and reporting templates to ensure efficient and effective learning experiences. Develops and monitors metrics around development initiatives, workforce skills gap, training needs, employee morale, training program effectiveness, etc. by business unit liaising with different departments to provide recommendations to improve training impact wherever necessary.

  • Develops departmental budget and regularly monitors to adjust courses of action in case of variance.

  • Ensures the maintenance of accurate and confidential records and data related to Learning and Development matters and the governance of the Learning Management system as per established companywide policies.

  • Performs talent management responsibilities including staffing, performance, discipline, pay decisions, team development, and other personnel actions for the Learning and Development function.

  • Manage a team of approximately 25 learning and development professionals and alignment with corporate objectives; Lead at least 5 director reports

You'll have...

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Learning or Instructional Design, Human Resources, Organizational Development

  • Minimum 8 years of work experience in Learning and Development field

  • Strong strategic thinking skills including the ability to impart or exchange information as a means of connecting people or places for the enhancement of business outcomes

  • Strong leadership skills that enacts team building through a diplomatic inclusive leadership style which values both the uniqueness and commonalities in team members openness to diverse input and facilitation of dialogue to produce best results

  • Strong stakeholder management skills

  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills and proven record of accomplishment in effectively achieving results in a cross functional or matrix environment

  • Outstanding written and presentation skills

  • Led team of 5+ employees

  • Candidates hired in SE Michigan are expected to work a hybrid schedule. For individuals outside of SE Michigan this position would be considered as remote unless candidate is interested in moving to SE Michigan. Domestic relocation is available as part of the benefit package.
