Elevator Mechanic

Job Description

As an Elevator Mechanic, you will oversee the installation of elevators, mechanical walkways, and escalators. You will respond to mechanical failures and system malfunctions, install and test electrical systems, and service and maintain machine parts. Your responsibilities also include repairing or replacing system parts, oiling and greasing moving parts, carrying out safety checks, maintaining stock and ordering supplies, and ensuring a clean working area.

Hard Skills

  • Elevator Mechanic License (CET and/or NEIEP)

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Relevant mechanical certification

  • Advanced knowledge of elevator systems, mechanical walkways, and escalators

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints

  • Troubleshooting mechanical malfunctions

  • Ability to travel and work after hours when required

Pay

  • $48 - $50 per hour

Work Environment

This position requires the ability to travel and work after hours when needed. You will often work independently and must maintain a clean and safe working area.
