Zimmer Biomet Lab Technician in Bloomington, Indiana

*Position is located in Warsaw, Indiana

Job Summary

This position is responsible for performance of both simple and complex sampling and testing procedures well as investigational troubleshooting, inventory control and assisting laboratory supervisor with training of new laboratory technicians. Operation and maintenance of basic and complex laboratory instrumentation is required.

Expected Areas of Competence (i.e. KSAs)

  • Demonstrated exemplary ability to perform all assigned procedures in a timely manner and with minimal supervision in the Laboratory Technician position.

  • Must have the ability to plan, organize and prioritize own workload.

  • Must be able to work both independently and as a team member.

  • Must be detail oriented, analytical and possess the ability to determine reasonability of test results.

  • Must have the ability to coordinate and supervise training activities for new hires as needed.

  • Must have demonstrated ability to persevere and follow-up with abnormal results or circumstances.

  • Must have demonstrated ability to operate complex instrumentation.

  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be familiar with GMPs and GLPs

  • Must be able to work overtime and/or shift work as the job demands.

Education/ Experience Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Medical Technology or related field required; B.S. in Microbiology, Biology, Medical Technology or other related field preferred.

  • Minimum of three years life science lab or environmental experience; medical device or industrial experience preferred.
