The specialist II, learning and development position is a critical member of the learning and development team. This tech savvy individual focuses on coordination and deployment of learning data analysis, design programs and learning management system (LMS) management aligned with The Toro Company’s business objectives.
What Will You Do?
In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for :
Project manages new and existing learning programs and projects (e.g., high-potential leadership programs, TTC Talks, online learning resources, new hire orientation, etc.) to include project planning, marketing and communications development, administration, liaison with vendors, and employee support
Manage ongoing system and process improvements, research and resolve LMS functionality issues as needed; manage key interfaces between external vendors and LMS.
Develop high-quality instructional design and training solutions, including e-learning, virtual and instructor led courses for delivery on a global scale aligned with business metrics and business objectives
Partners with the learning team, business and functional partners, and HRIS team to understand business needs related to training structure and delivery to find the most efficient and effective way to satisfy needs via the LMS
Creates, updates, analyze and distributes data and reporting to a variety of stakeholders
Assists in annual budgeting and strategic planning process for Learning function
Deploys LMS functionality to TTC facilities, including content mapping, learning history, assignment profiles, custom reporting, etc.
Communicates cross-functionally with HR business partners, legal, IT, and other business leaders across the company; provides some guidance and support to other functions on targeted learning initiatives
Directs learners to use the LMS, including what’s hot, new, interesting, and relevant such as learner home, announcements, custom sliders, etc.
Maintains subject matter expertise and further develops technical knowledge of new technologies, industry practices, and cutting-edge techniques
Performs other duties as assigned.
What Do You Need?
To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business, human resources or related field, or equivalent education and experience which would provide required knowledge, skills, and abilities (minimally HS Diploma)
Minimum of 3+ years of experience working with an LMS (preferably Workday) or similar system
Extensive knowledge of tools such as HTML, streaming audio, video, compression methods, file types and formats
Proven ability to interpret system needs and construct system processes
Proven ability to continually adapt and learn new procedures and software programs
Instructional Design proficiency and demonstration
Demonstrated experience with problem-solving and critical thinking, including ability to integrate information from various resources
Collaborative team player with ability to work across levels and functions, where flexibility, adaptability, and resiliency are important
Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
Promotes the inclusion of diverse knowledge, skills, and experiences to achieve results
Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer orientation
Expert Microsoft Office Suite skills

Competitive Salary – The pay range takes into account skills, experience, education, and location. It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the annual pay range is between $85,000 - $95,000. Cash compensation is one piece of our competitive total rewards package .
