Aerotek Master Machinist in Bloomington, Minnesota

Job Description

  • Lead, coach, train, develop, and mentor machinist/operators and cross-train current employees on operations, set-ups, and procedures; ensure proper and complete knowledge of such training is signed off.

  • Act as a highly advanced and skilled machinist, serving as the go-to machinist for tight tolerance, high-risk aerospace machining.

  • Support the team with 1st article runs, inspection with aerospace-grade materials, and aerospace standards.

  • Manage set-up, operation, and troubleshooting of a cell of 12–15 CNC machines.

  • Adhere to core values, safety, and quality requirements.

  • Coordinate daily production needs that address safety, quality, and productivity.

  • Provide programming support in the person and/or Mastercam.

  • Possess experience with multi-spindle, multi-turret CNC machines.

  • Use live tooling effectively.

  • Handle low volume and high product mix production.

  • Create corrective action plans for quality spills, knowledge gaps, or any mishaps in assigned cells, and make recommendations for improvements.

  • Communicate with the team, engineering, and management.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Setup and operation of multi-axis CNC lathes

  • Setup and operation of CNC Swiss Machines

  • Setup and operation of CNC Mills

  • Experience with aerospace industry

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Bloomington, Minnesota.

Work Environment

They have a new Director of Operations who has fostered a team environment with people willing to be cross-trained and help out where needed. The job-shop environment is very clean and has a team culture. The dress code is casual with closed-toed shoes, no shorts, and PPE required
