Markets Operations at Citi has embarked on a significant, multi-year transformation covering all aspects of designing and delivering a future state target operating model: risk and controls, regulatory compliance, process re-engineering, automation, people and culture, data transformation, technology investment and client service. This is a large and complex undertaking.
The Markets Operations Transformation team has been formed to support stakeholders both within Operations and across the bank, to design and deliver this multi-year transformation roadmap. Our transformation is underpinned by strategy, investment, change execution and a market-leading operations change delivery team focusing on programme and project management, business analysis, process re-engineering, low code application development and PMO.
The team is currently recruiting for a hybrid Business Analyst/Project Manager at VP level to support a 3-year Global Reconciliation Transformation Programme. The role will work in partnership with operations teams and technology partners across APAC, EMEA and North and South America. The role requires a good understanding of Markets products and operational processing as well as project management practices and discipline.
Responsibilities:
Manages a set of assigned projects, development of plans, tracking progress of deliverables on the plan, performing analysis as part of issue resolution, ensuring all project delivery documentation is in place, to the required standard and signed off.
Foster and maintain relationships with business and technology stakeholders acting as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members and engaged in working groups, steercos, and workshops where required.
Works with stakeholders to ensure program scope definition meets operations objective, ensuring requirements are clearly documented are strategic and are well understood by all stakeholders and Technology.
Works with stakeholders to ensure requirements are backed by a business case/cost benefit analysis is in line with business objectives and that there are trackable, tangible benefits with associated KPIs.
Support the Operations line team with their test preparation and execution and ensure all procedures, staffing etc considerations are addressed as part of their Operational readiness planning.
Leads the identification and drives resolution of issues, including those outside of the immediate workstream within their remit.
Drives adherence to program processes, procedures, methods, and standards for program delivery as defined by Citi PM standards.
Proactively manages the communication of status, issue, and risks to the Sponsor and key stakeholders on a timely basis.
Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy and can operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
6-10 years relevant experience
Prior industry experience.
Fully knowledgeable on the day-to-day activities of a product or process; Basic understanding of the firm's different businesses and the related economics ; Individual is expected to be subject area expert in one (or more) specific skill sets
Possesses a comprehensive understanding of how own area and others collectively integrate to contribute towards achieving business objectives
Education:
Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred

The candidate requires a solid understanding of project management/business analysis and operational processes, and the ability to lead the program team’s engagement with various regional and global stakeholders.
This role will require the candidate to work with the Markets Operations’ leadership team to develop strong awareness of the reconciliation estate and associated risks, hence excellent verbal, written and active listening communication skills are required.
The candidate should also demonstrate a good understanding of:
Citi’s Solution Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC) and what ‘good’ looks like
Developing high quality requirements with strong benefit statements
Working with technology on the most fitting solutions
Creating traceable test cases and successfully driving UAT
Validating benefits to measure effectiveness and return on investment (ROI)
Implementation of best practices to ensure reconciliations are correctly designed and compliant with relevant standards and controls Data Analysis to define metrics, understand patterns and drive sustainable improvements
Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate the ability to:

Work with Front office to ensure upstream data and processes are understood and robust so as to prevent downstream issues from occurring
