Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for an Application Development Analyst – Entry, Analyst, or Senior that specializes in Asset Suite to join our Information Technology team. It’s an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. While this position is based at Idaho Power’s downtown Boise location, we offer both flexible schedules and the opportunity to work up to 40% remote.
What does an Asset Suite Developer do for us?
They support our Asset Suite application by designing and developing integrations and enhancing the application Java based technologies. Asset Suite developers are also called on to help with reporting and data requests using PL/SQL. This position will evaluate, communicate, and coordinate technical impacts of upgrades, 3rd party software, technology infrastructure changes and application configuration decisions. In addition, they will provide break/fix support, maintain system design and security documents, and establish design standards for integrations.
For this role, the ideal candidate would be familiar with Asset Suite and have a thorough understanding of the Supply chain business processes including Inventory and Purchasing. They will sometimes have project-based work delivering IT change within the business, so adaptability is key within this role.

A COMPETITIVE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
Knowledge of:
- Computer programming concepts, relational databases, programming languages, and system design
Skills in:
Oral and written communication
SQL language
Object Oriented programming
Customer-focused approach to problem resolution and process improvement
Requirements gathering
Preferred:
Asset Suite
Experience developing in Eclipse and SQL Developer or Similar
Knowledge of Java, Groovy and PL/SQL
Git Source Code management
Test Planning and execution
Ability to:
- Work collaboratively in a team environment, be a self-starter, communicate and effectively and learn new technologies
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Entry
Education:
- High school diploma or GED
Experience:
- 2 years of directly relevant experience and/or formal, targeted hands-on training
OR
- Within 1 year of completing a B.S. in Computer Science (at least 3 years of education in Computer Science)
Analyst
Education/Experience:
- B.S. in Computer Science and 1 year of directly relevant experience and/or formal, targeted hands-on training
OR
- 5 years of directly relevant experience and/or formal, targeted hands-on training
Senior
Education/Experience:
- B.S. in Computer Science and 3 years of directly relevant experience and/or formal, targeted hands-on training
OR
- 7 years of directly relevant experience and/or formal, targeted hands-on training
Licenses & Certifications:
- Project Management and/or programming language certification desirable
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people.
