Department Overview:
Come join a motivated and caring team in Admissions and New Student Programs! Our work involves recruiting, admitting and onboarding prospective new students in service to Boise State\'s enrollment goals. We invite problem-solvers with high-level administrative and financial management skills to join us as the Business Operations Manager.
Level Scope:
Fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. works independently with general supervision; exercises judgement within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employees.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise, mentor and assess the work of one Business Operations Coordinator.
- Serve as member of the Admissions and New Student Programs leadership team and assist in decision-making for initiatives with budgetary impact.
- Provide administrative support for hiring professional and student staff.
- Monitor payroll reports to ensure accuracy and track expenditures.
- Manage budget projections, revenue, expenditures, and fiscal reporting.
- Oversee third-party contracts and agreements.
- Collaborate with staff in the division to identify opportunities and develop solutions to problems and issues related to technical or functional support of team.
- Maintain central administrative files for the unit with maximum retrieval effectiveness; create and maintain systems for shared organization.
- Provide independent analyses to Director of New Student Programs and Executive Director on process improvements as they relate to their departmental budgets.
- Handle sensitive and/or confidential issues related to personnel.
- Carry out personnel actions such as re-class, budget transfers, costing changes, etc. in consultation with departmental leadership and HR.
- Assist with staff training and development events and initiatives as well as broader divisional projects.
- Participate in various unit and divisional events, trainings, and standing meetings.
- Completes other projects or tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Supervisory experience and leadership skills
- Knowledge of project development and management
- Ability to efficiently follow and implement policies and procedures
- Experience researching and analyzing financial and other reports and compiling information
Minimum
Qualifications:
Bachelor\'s and 2 years of professional experience or equivalent relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience Boise State software, p licies and procedures relevant to the position.
- Experience with accounting, purchasing, travel and hiring in a university setting.
- Experience supporting business functions and activities related to new student recruitment and onboarding to a university.
Salary and Benefit
s:
Salary is \$60,000. Boise State University provides a best-in-class benefits package, including (but not limited to):
