Schedule: Compressed Day Shift - Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, alternating Wednesdays

Pay Rate: $22.00/hr.

Location: Boise, Idaho

The principal duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Ordering replacement material from the on-site warehouse and responding to chemical system empty alarms.

  • Clean the drums prior to connecting them to the chemical distribution systems.

  • Perform quality assurance checks prior to loading any chemistry onto a system, using the on-site scanning/QC software. 

  • Answer telephone, radio, and pager requests for chemicals and alarms.

  • Use PC for e-mail, distribution system tank level, chemical requisition, drum unload, and chemical information programs.

  • Maintain proper chemical and lot number segregation in storage areas.

  • Ensure that the correct chemicals are delivered to the proper areas and connected to the appropriate distribution systems.

  • Deliver, wipe down, and connect 55 gal. chemical drums and 300-gallon chemical totes to distribution systems.

  • Read and understand chemical labels.

  • Use Barcode scanning equipment, and chemical distribution system PLC touch screens to acknowledge low chemical alarms, and to connect new chemical drums to the distribution systems.

Requirements:

  • Able to understand written and verbal instructions (including procedure breakdowns, responding to phone, pager, and emails).

  • Previous experience with handling of hazardous materials and the use of SCBA and personal protective equipment.

  • Strong PC skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Works well with limited supervision, in a group or independently.

  • Able to work 12-hours shifts.

Preferred: 

  • Military jet fuel or avionics experience (trucks, planes, helicopters)

  • Prior background such as: chemical or gas handler, military aviation, fleet or mechanics, fuel specialist.

Physical Effort/Activities:

May be required to walk up to 5+miles per day, able to be on feet for 8-10 hrs at a time, ability to bend, twist, push/pull, crouch, kneel in confined spaces, work at heights, on a ladder, and lift up to 50 pounds. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
