Value Stream ManagerLocation: Boom, BelgiumJob Purpose:

As the Value Stream Manager, you will mentor and guide the personnel and activities within your value stream. Your primary responsibility is to achieve the planned production objectives efficiently and effectively, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and quantity standards. You will support, coordinate, and motivate employees, providing the necessary resources and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and waste reduction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety and Compliance: Promote a culture of safe working practices and ensure strict adherence to safety regulations.

  • Work Environment: Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the workplace.

  • Production Oversight: Direct and provide objectives for daily production activities within the value stream.

  • Performance Metrics: Measure and enhance performance parameters to meet production standards regarding quality, quantity, and cost.

  • Leadership: Provide coaching leadership to value stream cells, maximizing individual competencies, engagement, and motivation.

  • Training and Flexibility: Implement cross-training, multi-skilling, and flexibility within the team.

  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging employees to initiate and sustain process improvement projects based on Lean Manufacturing principles.

  • Team Collaboration: Strengthen internal cohesion and interaction between the value stream and other teams and the organization as a whole.

  • Problem Solving: Identify and analyze bottlenecks, proposing structural solutions through troubleshooting and problem-solving.

  • Meetings and Communication: Organize and participate in systematic cell performance meetings.

  • HPT Culture: Support the implementation of High-Performance Team (HPT) culture within the value stream cells.

  • Employee Evaluation: Assess employee performance, track individual development, and follow up on ambitions.

  • Visual Management: Implement visual management systems within the value stream.

  • Environmental Compliance: Ensure compliance with guidelines related to waste sorting, storage, use, disposal of hazardous substances, and sustainable energy consumption.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical field. Industrial Engineering in Electromechanics is highly desirable.

  • Experience: At least 5 years of leadership experience in a production environment.

  • Coaching Skills: Excellent coaching abilities.

  • Planning Knowledge: Proficiency in planning processes.

  • ERP Systems: Experience with ERP systems is essential.

  • Empathy: Ability to interact effectively with teams and individuals.

  • Communication: Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging at all organizational levels.

  • Language Proficiency: Excellent command of Dutch and good knowledge of English (both spoken and written); proficiency in German is a plus.

  • Technical Skills: Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

  • Lean Manufacturing: Demonstrable knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts.

  • Multidisciplinary Teams: Familiarity with multidisciplinary teams, SQCDP, QRM, and Six Sigma principles is advantageous.

  • Organizational Knowledge: Broad understanding of all disciplines within the designated part of the organization.

  • Technical Interests: Strong interest and affinity with CNC turning, industrial process automation, and industrial programming.

  • Project Management: Ability to monitor the quality and progress of projects, aligning them with the organization's direction.

  • Result Responsibility: Proven experience in bearing result responsibility.

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze and abstract information, considering and evaluating interrelationships.
