Planate Management Group LLC Architect (Algiers, Algeria) in Boston, Massachusetts

Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with technical support centers in South East Asia and East Africa, that provide program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.

We are looking for a Registered Architect to provide architectural expertise, construction quality assurance, and technical oversight for the Algiers Chancery Facade Replacement project in Algiers, Algeria. The duration of the contract is 12 months. This role will support OBO/Algiers by conducting technical inspections, monitoring the contractor's quality control program, and reviewing project drawings and specifications to ensure compliance. As a Registered Architect (RA), you will play a key role in ensuring the project is completed in accordance with contract requirements, U.S. building codes, and industry’s best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the contractor performs work per design documents.

  • Read and interpret design/construction drawings, narratives, and calculations.

  • Review engineering shop drawings for compliance with final design parameters.

  • Conduct onsite inspections to verify proper installation, formation, and execution of construction elements.

  • Perform quality assurance tasks, inspect contractor’s work, ensure corrective actions, and resolve conflicts.

  • Monitor the contractor’s quality assurance and safety programs.

  • Track construction progress against the project schedule and submit weekly reports with recommendations.

  • Inspect architectural elements of the project for compliance.

  • Ensure proper coordination with other disciplines in reviewing shop drawings and submittals.

  • Identify construction issues, assess contractor remedies, and provide solutions to the Project Director/Construction Manager.

  • Prepare construction reports detailing progress and challenges.

  • Ensure construction adheres to U.S. standards, including materials and procedures.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Director.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited U.S. university.

  • Registered Architect (RA) certification required.

  • Minimum seven (7) years of construction experience on projects of similar scope and value.

  • Final Secret, Interim Top Secret (ITS), or Final Top Secret (TS) clearance required.

  • Strong knowledge of International Codes, U.S. construction standards, and safety regulations.

  • Overseas experience preferred.

  • Proven ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Ability to interpret and review architectural drawings, shop drawings, and submittals, ensuring compliance and coordination across disciplines.

  • Experience in monitoring construction work, identifying issues, and ensuring adherence to contract specifications.
