The Strategic Planning and Operations, Senior Manager is responsible for identifying internal and external strategic issues and opportunities that could affect the organization's growth and profitability. By evaluating potential mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships, this role contributes to Takeda's mission of bringing better health to people and a brighter future to the wor ld.
OBJECTIVES
The Business Operations Manager is instrumental in enhancing the operational efficiency and strategic oversight within Global Data Digital and Technology (DD&T) at Takeda. Key responsibilities include:
Facilitating DD&T Governance: Facilitate effective governance of DD&T by meticulously preparing and executing Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and other governance processes, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and meaningful outcomes. This includes organizing QBR sessions, ensuring stakeholder preparedness, driving the agenda, moderating discussions, and following up on progress to ensure actions are implemented. The manager ensures these activities align with Takeda’s strategic objectives and drive meaningful outcomes.
Supporting DD&T Executive Decision-Making: Provide crucial support to the Strategic Planning & Ops Effectiveness Lead in preparing detailed analyses and resulting decision-support materials for the Chief Digital and Technology Officer (CDTO) and other senior DD&T leaders. This involves synthesizing complex operational data and strategic insights to aid in high-stakes decision-making, ensuring the leadership is well-informed to steer DD&T effectively.
Driving Reporting Excellence and Compliance: Manage the development and maintenance of operational KPIs that monitor and report the performance of DD&T and its operations, facilitating continuous improvement and compliance with industry standards. Simultaneously, drive the creation and regular updating of compliance reports (e.g., pertaining to ESG standards, data security, and other regulatory requirements).
How you will contribute:
Manage all aspects of DD&T governance meetings, especially QBRs. Responsibilities include stakeholder preparation, agenda setting, moderation, and tracking the implementation of decisions. Ensure that QBRs are effectively organized and that outcomes align with strategic objectives.
Prepare decision-support materials and perform analyses to aid DD&T leadership in informed decision-making, synthesizing complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
Develop and maintain KPIs for DD&T, ensuring accurate and timely reporting. Create and manage compliance reports (e.g., related to ESG standards, data security, and other regulatory requirements, ensuring DD&T operations align with industry and legal standards.
Develop and implement systems to enhance the efficiency of operational reporting processes. Refine, simplify and automate reporting mechanisms to provide clearer insights into operational performance and compliance.
Support the Strategic Planning & Ops Effectiveness Lead with ad hoc tasks to enhance DD&T operations, stakeholder engagement, and team management
Skills and qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences, Life Sciences, Business, or related subject matter.
Minimum 10+ years of information management and/or related work experience in Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry
10+ years of working experience managing external service provider partnerships within Pharmaceutical and/or Biotech environment.
Experience with IT projects from start to end.
Strong knowledge of information management, data quality, data constraints and Governance Frameworks
Proven leadership and management capability
Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement, operational excellence, and elevate service levels.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to listen and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to engage effectively with colleagues and senior business stakeholders.
Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and a high level of organization skills
Experience in budget planning and financial management.

U.S. Base Salary Range:
$133,000.00 - $209,000.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
