Principal Responsibilities:
Responsible for the installation and maintenance of bulk cryogenic and non-cryogenic systems to include Nitrogen, Oxygen, Argon, CO2, Hydrogen, and Helium systems in the assigned coverage area.
Primary mechanical skills include piping/plumbing work on cryogenic systems, brazing, welding, troubleshooting and installation of valves and regulators, and basic electrical troubleshooting.
Be the face of Messer with our customers, providing key customer technical support during the start of a new Bulk installation contract or an upgrade at site
Act as a technical resource accompanying the sales organization on customer calls
Responsible for managing Messer resources and Third-Party Contractor resources during the installation on site
Responsible for holding daily Toolbox Talks and executing all Messer safety requirements during installs
Works with CES Project Managers to ensure all appropriate equipment is ordered so that installations can proceed safely and efficiently, meeting appropriate regional Code requirements
Assures proper on-site labor resources are organized and available for the installation
Works with CES Regional Maintenance and Service Managers to ensure site layout and installation meets Maintenance and Delivery needs while adhering to North America best practices
Works to implement solutions as directed by Messer standards and qualified engineer resources
Assists Project Managers to provide site integration quotes for customers
Tracks time and materials on projects and enters into appropriate Messer systems
Manages scope of work on-site and escalates scope changes as appropriate
Provides project management and coordination for customers as needed
Responsible for operational readiness inspection and handoff of site to local maintenance technician and customer
Assists local Maintenance Technician with Readiness Training, including system operations and maintenance
Follow Messer safety policies, procedures, and goals
Manage personal store room of inventory, approximately $100K-$200K in rotating parts
Ensure compliance with Messer Contractor Management Policies and Procedures
Complete Virtual and In-Person Training as assigned
Performs work as needed to implement technical solutions, including installations, equipment troubleshooting and equipment maintenance
Target of approximately 50% travel to complete installations as needed
Assists CES Assets Manager with equipment readiness inspections at Vendor locations as requested
Based on special skills and training, may also maintain local sites as installation schedule allows or as required to best service Customer needs
Qualifications/Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of cryogenic installation and maintenance (or comparable) experience required
High school degree
2-year technical degree or comparable experience preferred
Valid driver’s license with good driving record
Journeyman's Pipefitter license preferred
