Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled Executive Chef to support a prestigious boutique law firm located in Boston, MA. This role will oversee kitchen operations and catering services and will focus on preparing and serving high-end breakfast, lunch, and heavy catering options for the firm’s staff and guests. The Executive Chef will also be responsible for overseeing evening functions and occasional weekend offsite events. This is an exciting opportunity for a culinary professional with extensive catering experience to thrive in a dynamic, high-end environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and develop regular and modified menus for breakfast, lunch, and catering services in alignment with corporate programs and client expectations.

  • Prepare meals with precision, adhering to standardized recipes, portioning, and presentation standards, ensuring consistent quality.

  • Complete daily production worksheets and waste logs, ensuring the quality of all food offerings.

  • Train kitchen staff in food preparation, equipment operation, safe handling practices, and sanitation standards.

  • Ensure the kitchen is maintained according to company and regulatory standards, including regular cleaning and maintenance of equipment, storage, and work areas.

  • Maintain inventory of food and non-food supplies, managing resources effectively to stay within established budget guidelines while ensuring that necessary products are available when needed.

  • Handle the use of leftover food products, ensuring compliance with company guidelines for waste minimization and product utilization.

  • Comply with all federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations, ensuring the kitchen meets all health department and third-party audit standards.

  • Follow safety policies and procedures, reporting any incidents or occurrences promptly.

  • Oversee and execute catering services for a variety of functions, including corporate meetings, offsite events, and evening gatherings.

  • Coordinate and participate in evening functions and occasional weekend events as needed, ensuring smooth execution and high-quality service.

  • Participate in departmental meetings, staff development programs, and relevant professional activities to enhance culinary leadership and expertise.

Preferred Qualifications:.

  • A least 5 years of progressive culinary and kitchen management experience, including hands-on chef experience in catering environments.

  • Extensive catering experience, especially in high-end, corporate settings.

  • Strong background in high-volume food service operations and institutional cooking.

  • Expertise in food and catering trends, with a focus on quality, presentation, and food cost control.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and general computer literacy.

  • ServSafe certification is highly desirable.

  • Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends, with flexibility to manage offsite events as needed.

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage a team and oversee large catering functions.

  • Excellent time management, able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • High attention to detail in food quality, safety, and presentation.

  • Passion for culinary excellence and creating exceptional dining experiences.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in culinary arts
