Role Overview
The Senior Resource Manager is responsible for driving operational excellence through the strategic allocation and optimization of resources across Verndale’s delivery teams. You’ll work closely with project managers, department leads, and leadership to ensure we are maximizing team efficiency while maintaining a high standard of client delivery.
This is a key role within Verndale, requiring a balance of strategic thinking, exceptional organization, and strong interpersonal skills. You’ll be the central hub for understanding team capacity, identifying gaps, and aligning talent with project needs.
Responsibilities
Resource Planning & Allocation
Oversee resourcing for all delivery teams, including technical, creative, and marketing services.
Partner with project managers and department leads to forecast staffing needs based on project pipelines and business priorities.
Identify and resolve resource conflicts, balancing workloads and ensuring equitable assignments across teams.
Maintain and improve tools and systems for tracking team capacity and availability (e.g., Smartsheet, Wrike, or other platforms).
Strategic Resourcing
Collaborate with department heads to assess and develop strategies for scaling resourcing as the organization grows.
Proactively identify talent gaps and make recommendations for hiring or upskilling based on project demands and evolving client needs.
Provide input into the hiring process to ensure recruitment aligns with resourcing forecasts and strategic goals.
Operational Excellence
Develop and maintain processes for resourcing requests, assignments, and reporting to ensure transparency and efficiency.
Create dashboards and reports to monitor resource utilization, availability, and productivity, presenting insights to leadership regularly.
Ensure proper documentation and standardization of resource management workflows.
Collaboration & Communication
Act as the central point of contact for all resourcing inquiries, ensuring timely and clear communication across teams.
Partner with leadership to align resourcing strategy with company goals and objectives.
Foster collaboration across departments to maximize cross-functional team efficiency.
Process Improvement
Continuously evaluate and optimize resource management tools, processes, and workflows to improve efficiency and scalability.
Introduce and implement automation where applicable to reduce manual effort and streamline operations.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in resource management, traffic management, or operations within a digital agency, consultancy, or similar environment.
Experience scaling resource management operations within a rapidly growing organization.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and digital delivery processes.
Bachelor's degree in business, operations, or a related field.
Strong understanding of resourcing needs for technology, creative, and marketing disciplines.
Proficiency with resource management tools (e.g., Jira/Tempo, Kantata, monday.com or similar platforms) and familiarity with project management software.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and forecast staffing needs.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across teams and influence decisions.
