Job Description

The Senior Vice President, Operations is accountable for leading and driving transformation in Prime’s Operations organization including member and clinical operations, claims and benefit operations, implementations, operational regulatory and audit, and operational shared services. This executive leadership position will be responsible for establishing and delivering the Operations vision and strategy to drive member satisfaction, achieve operational efficiency, elevate productivity, and achieve the highest quality standards. This executive will be a key influencer and partner internally and externally to establish a best-in-class member experience and deliver on Prime’s mission. This role will also be responsible for progressing Prime’s operational technology in partnership with executive leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of a multi-year operations strategy and roadmap to achieve Prime’s short term and long-term enterprise priorities, accountable for the success of core operations, operations shared services, implementations, operations regulatory and audit execution

  • Accountable for financial and operational performance meeting and exceeding operational metrics, goals, and KPIs impacting the organization’s efficiency, profitability and success

  • Collaborate with key senior leaders across the organization to enhance and evolve operational best practices and operational technology/systems

  • Responsible for execution of all operational program and project activities that enable implementation of key initiatives and on-boarding new clients and/or programs

  • Identify market trends and areas of opportunity to evolve and elevate the Operations functions to further differentiate Prime from our competitors

  • Provide strong enterprise level leadership and proactive direction to the organization, including mentoring, development, and proactive communication, to ensure a high level of performance, productivity, and engagement

  • Establish a credible and influential position as a leader on Prime’s Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and as a trusted business expert with the Prime Board of Directors

  • Serve as business operations expert, collaborating with executive peers and other key leaders to reach a shared enterprise strategy, execute effectively on goals, and advance Prime’s transformative strategies and position in the market; drive collaboration and true full enterprise thinking and communication

  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, operations management, or relevant field

  • 15 years of relevant work experience in operations, including at least 10 years of experience leading an operations, shared services, or regulatory function for a Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM), health plan, or managed care organization

  • 10 years of progressive leadership experience

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience in successfully leading a team and collaborating with executives, senior leaders and experts

  • Understands enterprise and business strategies and formulates concise solutions to complex problems for operational improvements

  • Excellent communication skills in various situations and venues, influencing key stakeholders internally and externally to drive operational excellence

  • Innovative leader with knowledge of the health insurance industry/PBM industry and major competitors, including experience driving efficiency and managing operating costs for competitive advantage

  • Strategic thinking and long-range planning skills with the ability to design, execute, and link multiple projects over time to achieve a future strategic goal

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or other related advanced degree

  • Experience leading operations within PBM organization

  • Strong understanding of government programs with an understanding of CMS regulations

Physical Demands

  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must be able to “move or traverse”

  • Must be able to constantly operate a computer and/or other office productivity equipment.

  • Must be able to hear and constantly communicate information and ideas. Must be able to exchange accurate information.
