Medical, dental vision, 401k and many other benefits are available without a waiting period. Summary: We are looking for a Senior Project Engineer for our Precision Guidance Technologies programs. In this role, you will provide technical leadership to a multidisciplinary team responsible for successfully executing our contracted and internally funded programs. You will drive system architecture and apply innovative technical solutions through a high level of engineering skills including mechanical and electrical designs as well as structural, thermal and performance analysis. You will work with our subsystem partners in defining their requirements and scope to ensure their deliverables meet our system requirements and program schedules. In addition, you will lead both internal and customer Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to plan, coordinate and execute program defined scope. As the Senior Project Engineer, you will act as the technical interface with our customers and represent GD-OTS in technical reviews and other program meetings. Major Position Responsibilities Performs engineering design evaluations and works to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints. Reviews industry policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance. Reviews reports of production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine or address problems. Provides technical support for the engineering process. Designs, implements, and communicates, an operational plan for completing the project. Monitors progress and performance against the project plan. Takes action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays. Identifies, develops, and gathers resources necessary to complete the project. Prepares engineering designs and work specifications. Develops project schedules, budgets, and forecasts. Selects materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors. Basic Qualifications Required Qualifications: Associate's degree and 5-7 years' experience required Engineering Degree Required Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical or Electrical Engineering Working understanding of basic engineering principles, theories, and concepts, including mechanical, electrical design and analysis. Experience working on Guidance, Navigation and Control (GN&C) systems including IMUs, GPS, Power Systems, Guidance Computers and Control Systems. General understanding of aerodynamic principles and design. Experience in planning and executing successful projects for complex aerospace products. Ability to translate general customer requirements into products, specific requirements and program elements Experience in developing subsystem Statements of Work.
