FIRST RF Electronics Technician (RF) in Boulder, Colorado

Summary of the Position We are seeking a skilled RF Technician. In this role, you will design and build antenna prototypes under guidance from engineers. Construct assemblies of final prototypes, assist in the preparation of schematics, designs, and specifications. Design and build test fixtures, troubleshoot, and test electrical circuits, conduct tests, record data, and summarize results. Provide input for design reviews, proposals, and specifications. Develop build procedures, processes, and training to help transition newly developed designs into production.

Work Environment This job operates in a professional office and laboratory. This role routinely uses laboratory equipment such as vector network analyzers, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week. Office hours include Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.

Travel No travel is expected for this position.

Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

Qualifications Required Education and Experience U.S. Citizenship required and ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance Associate's degree in Electronics and Computer Technology or equivalent Proven ability to independently work to achieve subsystem-level objectives Proficiency in hand-soldering/ rework of connectors and surface mount components Ability for mechanical assembly with common hand tools including drills, screwdrivers, wrenches, tap & die, and cutting tools. Familiarity with computer aided design tools for creating drawings (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks) Knowledge and practical application of a variety of test equipment, mainly to facilitate debugging and diagnosis of new RF circuit or antenna designs, including: Network Analyzers Signal generators Multi Meters Spectrum Analyzers Strong communication and documentation skills, ability to problem solve and work effectively within deadlines Preferred Education and Experience Board layout and routing of PCBs containing RF, digital, and power subsections in Altium Designer U derstanding of the principals of high-speed digital design and RF circuit design Experience with general printed circuit tools and test equipment Hot-air guns, reflow ovens, and solder stencils Oscilloscopes Logic Analyzers Demonstrated ability debug and diagnose active RF circuits and associated support electronics. Experience with antenna radiation pattern testing in near- or far-field ranges Experience with test and fabrication methods for managing radar cross section
